Revenge on The Camargue

The wide open and unobserved beaches of the Camargue are targeted by the major, Toulouse-based, gang boss, Sebastien Moroni for an criminal operation to smuggle illegal immigrants into France from North Africa. At the same time Smith's new friend, Martine Aubanet, is set to take over the leadership of the Camargue farmers from her father with some of the farmers unhappy about a woman taking charge.

Moroni also has designs on the territory to the east of the River Rhône that is the fiefdom of his great rival Alexei Girondou who runs his criminal empire from Marseilles.

Smith and his beloved Camargue sit squarely in the middle of all this and inevitably he must come to the aid of the Aubanet family. But by doing so he ends up between the two warring criminal families as well.

Smith's retirement in the South of France continues to be a good deal more eventfully that he would like.
